Sonja is a Science Communicator in the Communication Group, which delivers communication services to CSIRO's Land and Water division and the Water for a Healthy Country Flagship. She is based at the Highett site in Melbourne, Victoria.

She joined CSIRO in 2008 to work for the Water for a Healthy Country Flagship program and the Land and Water group.

Sonja has a background in corporate communications and journalism. She worked in communication roles for the City of Eindhoven in the Netherlands and the City of Subiaco and the WA State Government in Perth, Western Australia before moving to Victoria to join CSIRO.

Her responsibilities include:

• Communication support for the Water for a Healthy Country Flagship’s Urban Water Theme
• Communication support for the Urban and Industrial Water Research Program of CSIRO Land and Water
• Coordinating promotional activities, seminars and events
• Production of written materials for different promotional channels
• Supporting communications on the Highett site

Sonja’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Communications.
