Amgad Elmahdi
Amgad Elmahdi is a Water Systems Modeller working in the Surface Water and Groundwater Interactions research group, within the Hydrology research program. Specific research areas/capabilitiesAmgad has eleven years experience in all aspects of hydrology and water management. This experience has included Integrated water resources and Basin Management, Irrigation Demand management, Hydrological economics and biophysical relationship, Surface-Groundwater Modelling, Water banking approach, the investigation and assessment of surface water pollution problems, Water reallocation model, Irrigation and Drainage management, Multi Criteria Evaluation Techniques for water future scenarios, Water and yield relationship and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and water information database. Recent Professional ExperienceAmgad has worked in Egypt, Italy, and Australia dealing with a range of issues in surface and groundwater hydrology. His recent appointments include:
International Projects ExperienceAmgad was also involved in working on different research projects with interdisciplinary teams. 2003 -2007 NBCBN Project Nile Basin Capacity Building Network - River Engineering. Funding Agency: Dutch Government and the World Bank through the NBI-Secretariat.
2002- 2003 Researcher NAWQAM Project - National Water Quality And Availability Management. Joint Canadian- Egyptian water quality programe project to improve water data storage, data retrieval and data analysis through greater management of GIS databases in order to improve implementation and dissemination of water information by the Egyptian National Water Research centre to / from stakeholder in a form suitable for influencing policy dialogue and policy formulation.
