Xplot for Windows
XRD Data Manipulation Program
Overview
XPLOT is an Windows based program for the manipulation of step or continuous
scan X-ray diffraction data for powdered samples. The program is primarily
designed to display the X-ray data in a convenient graphical form and
allow features of the resultant pattern to be examined in detail. These
features can be labelled as required. Hard copy of the annotated pattern
is possible to printers, plotters and the Windows Clipboard (for pasting
into word processor documents). There are facilities within the program
for locating peaks with a variable degree of sensitivity, pattern addition
(or subtraction), and angle calibration for diffractometer misalignment.
Diffraction pattern data for 5 different samples can be compared on the
same display with variable offsets. For licensed users of the ICDD (International
Centre for Diffraction Data) Powder Diffraction File, PDF-2 database on
CD-ROM, additional software is supplied to extract d-I information to
hard disk, allowing computer search/match and display of the identified
phases in stick pattern form.
Features
- Easy to use mouse driven menus and icons
- VGA and super VGA graphics cards supported (ie up to 1024x768 resolution)
- Input up to 5 diffraction patterns simultaneously
- Change intensity and angle range simply by the click of a mouse button
- Display a stick pattern of "standard" diffraction patterns
(ICDD data)
- Locate peaks automatically (software) or manually (mouse)
- Computer search/match the peak list (for licensed users of the ICDD
database)
- Pattern addition or subtraction
- Output modified patterns to ASCII or XPLOT format files
- Output modified patterns to the Windows Clipboard for easy insertion
into word processor documents
- Hardcopy output to all Windows compatible printers (including colour
inkjets)
