Working to World Standards

The Sustainable River and Irrigation Hydrology Research Directorate, based in Griffith, is now the second research team at CSIRO Land and Water to achieve International Standards Organisation accreditation (following the Policy and Economic Research Unit). The Directorate was awarded ISO 9001-2000 accreditation earlier this year.

Research Director Shahbaz Khan says the certification attests to the group’s commitment to world standards and plans to use it as ‘a baseline in developing, adopting and continually improving research delivery’.

The certification refers to a quality management system that covers every step of the research process – from initial discussions which generate a research idea, right through to the delivery of research outcomes.
