CSIRO Irrigation Device Wins International Award

The International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) presented CSIRO Land and Water researcher Dr Richard Stirzaker with its 2003 Watsave - Technology Award at a ceremony held in Montpelier, France on 19 September. The Watsave award was created by ICID to recognise outstanding contributions to water savings and water conservation in agriculture.

Richard and the South African team were nominated by the South African Commission of Irrigation and Drainage for their work with the FullStop wetting front detector amongst small scale and commercial farmers in South Africa.
