Coming events - ICOBTE
In April 2005, the International Conference on the Biogeochemistry
of Trace Elements (ICOBTE) will come to Australia for the first time.
‘The 8th ICOBTE promises to bring together environmental
researchers and other professionals from the food, fertiliser, health
and mining sectors,’ says Dr Mike McLaughlin, Conference Chair.
‘It will have a strong focus on remediation and contaminant risk
assessment.’
‘With the review of the Australian National Environment
Protection Measure (NEPM) for the Assessment of Site Contamination, there
are many issues that need to be resolved,’ says Dr McLaughlin. ‘We
really need to look at what the science can deliver for improved natural
resource management.’
The 8th ICOBTE will be held at the Adelaide International
Convention Centre, Adelaide, South Australia from 3-7 April 2005. Earlybird
registration closes 12 December 2004.
