Burdekin Bowen Integrated Floodplain Management Advisory Committee
Sponsored by the Lower Burdekin Landcare Association and The Australian Centre for Tropical Freshwater Research.
BBIFMAC is an advisory committee of the Lower Burdekin Landcare Association that was formed to guide the development and support the implementation of the Burdekin-Bowen Floodplain Community Based Natural Resource Management Strategy.
BBIFMAC membership operates on an open door policy and consists of members from a range of community, industry and government agency bodies within the sub-region.
The overall objective of integrated natural resource management is to optimise primary production and environmental conservation while minimising natural resource degradation due to resource use or development activities. It is hoped, by involving the community in the development of the strategy for our sub-region, that more effective partnerships can be formed with industry and government in the stewardship of our natural resources and unique natural environment.
