Overview

The Lower Burdekin Initiative provides a framework for coordination of the water related research activities currently being undertaken in the region by a range of organisations. 

The collaborative effort will lead to an improved understanding of water resources and water management in the region. 

Greater knowledge will empower the community to challenge their current thinking, and to seek out new ways of implementing more effective and sustainable water management practices that help balance the economic, social and environmental needs of the lower Burdekin.
