We undertake world-class research and technology diffusion that positions Australia as the acknowledged leader in land and water resources management.

Our Research

We are able to tackle scientific problems and major issues in an integrated fashion so that solutions recognise impacts on environment, economics and society.

National Scope

With more than 570 staff placed in 10 locations around Australia, CSIRO Land and Water is positioned to tackle issues from regional to national scale. Such scientific breadth and depth is essential to address complex environmental issues.

We promote better use of Australian land and water resources by working in partnership with industry and community groups, and by providing improved techniques to aid decision making by local, state and federal government authorities.
