![]() Australian Water Conservation and Reuse Research ProgramAbout the program | Water Reuse Project Workshops | Publications | Articles | Stage 1 Outcomes | Contact In the current political climate, widespread adoption of urban water conservation and reuse is a necessity (Senate Inquiry Report on Urban Water Management, December 2002; Wentworth Group – Blueprint for a National Water Plan, July 2003). But the Australian research base is modest and fragmented, according to a recent review (Dillon, 2000). To offset the shortfall and provide firm foundations for policies and practices, the Australian Water Conservation and Reuse Research Program was created. The coordinated program promotes efficiency in research, communicates outcomes and links Australia to progress being made internationally. This program is growing and water utilities, government departments, local government, developers and water technology companies are invited to participate. Additional researchers will be welcome in Stage 2.
Workshops will be
held around Australia in May 2004.
