NEW:  Report for the 2005/06 season

Coolamon Focus Farm

The Coolamon Focus Farm, "Raywood", is one of five focus farms established in the Murrumbidgee Catchment  by Murrumbidgee Grain and Graze. They are being used to monitor production and sustainability indicators across a range of enterprises: perennial pastures, annual pastures, native pastures and crops. Monitoring will include dry matter, ground cover, water use & biodiversity to determine the impact of management decisions on productivity and the natural resource base.

On the Coolamon Focus Farm five paddocks are being monitored: grazing wheat, grain-only wheat, annual pasture, perennial pasture (lucerne and chicory) and native woodland.

Continuous measurements of soil water are being made at one site in each of the five paddocks, and updated daily to this web site (see Results). For more information about the methodology, see "How the measurements are made" and "Interpreting the measurements".

To view the results select "Results" from the menu at the top of the page. By following the "Commentary" link on the menu, a regularly updated running commentary on the results can be viewed.
